For the first time since the 1996 ODI World Cup, Pakistan are hosting an ICC event in the form of the Champions Trophy 2025. On the field, the hosts had a disastrous tournament having been knocked out of the group stages without a single win. Off the field too, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has faced considerable criticism for the condition of the grounds, after three out of the last five matches in Pakistan were washed out due to rain. The PCB has now taken a massive step regarding this.
The last two games in Rawalpindi- Pakistan vs Bangladesh on February 24, and South Africa vs Australia on February 23- were completely washed out without a ball being bowled. The PCB has now confirmed they will refund the price of the tickets for the majority of spectators who witnessed these two washouts at Rawalpindi. This is because the guidelines of the PCB state that thr ticket prices will only be refunded if the toss does not take place.
The standard enclosure tickets will be refunded, while the ticket prices of other categories like box and gallery will not be eligible for recompensation.
The tickets for the match between Australia and Afghanistan in Lahore, which was washed out too will not be refunded, as a total of 52 overs were bowled in two innings.

Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi Futures In Danger

According to a report by Cricket Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a comprehensive review of the team's performance after the Champions Trophy 2025 debacle. This might include a massive change in the squad with players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah facing the axe.
Even though head coach Aaqib Javed has stated that he does not want to resign after the Champions Trophy 2025 debacle, the PCB might relieve him of his duties.
