Rohit Sharma Smashes World Record, Creates History.

Rohit Sharma smashed the world to become the most prolific six-hitter in ICC ODI tournament history during Tuesday's India vs Australia match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. This was after Rohit smoked Nathan Ellis over the mid-wicket to eclipse Chris Gayle's feat of 64 sixes in ICC events.
Rohit Sharma has already surpassed Gayle's record of 331 sixes to become the second-highest six-hitter in ODIs with 338 sixes. He is now only behind Shahid Afridi, who holds the record with 351 sixes. He also broke a slew of records during the Champions Trophy.
Rohit Sharma currently owns the record for the most international centuries (36) by an Indian player after the age of 30, surpassing the previous record of Sachin Tendulkar, who had 35 centuries.
Rohit Sharma also has the most number of fifty-plus scores (121) in international cricket.
Rohit Sharma also became the first captain to hit 250 international sixes.
Rohit Sharma also overtook Rahul Dravid's tally of 10,889 runs to break into the list of the top 10 highest run-getters in ODI history.
Rohit Sharma is the most prolific six-hitter in T20 Internationals, with 205 sixes to his name. He is, in fact, the only batter in T20I history to have hit more than 200 sixes.
