India are currently taking on Australia in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium on March 4 (Tuesday). Australia batted first and managed to score 264 in the first innings, meaning that India will have to chase down 265 to win and qualify for the final. India's highest total till now in the tournament has been 249 which they scored against New Zealand. They have not chased a total above 241 till now. Hence, India need to post their highest total in the tournament to win the semi-final.

What Is India's Highest Successful Run Chase In Champions Trophy Knockouts?

If India manage to chase down 265 against Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final then it will be India's joint-highest run-chase in the history for the Men in Blue in the knockouts of the tournament.
India have chased down 265 in the semi-final of the 2017 Champions Trophy in Birmingham. Tamim Iqbal top scored with 70 and Mushfiqur Rahim slammed 65 as Bangladesh posted 264/7. Rohit Sharma was the star of the show in the run chase for India as he scored 123. Virat Kohli also came good with a 96-run knock, as India won the game by 9 wickets.
India need to equal this run-chase against Bangladesh, in order to win against Australia.

Mohammed Shami Takes Three As Australia Bundled Out For 264

Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. Steve Smith led the Aussie innings with a wonderful 73-run innings. Alex Carey also shined with the bat in the lower order as he scored a crucial half-century. Travis Head also gave them a fast start with a 39-run knock from just 33 balls.
Mohammed Shami was the pick of the Indian bowlers as he too three wickets for 48 runs. Varun Chakravarthy and Ravindra Jadeja also shone with 2 wickets each.
