Glenn Phillips stole the show on Virat Kohli's 300th ODI match the 2025 Champions Trophy clash between India and New Zealand at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday (March 2) with a stunning one-handed catch to end the Indian batter's stay at the crease, who later had a long chat with Ravindra Jadeja over the dismissal.
After Indian openers Rohit Sharma (15) and Shubman Gill (2) departed early after the Men in Blue won the toss and chose to bat first, Kohli departed after making just 11 runs as the Indian team lost three wickets in the powerplay.
Kohli's dismissal will be one that will be remembered for a long time as Phillips took a stunning catch at point. On the fourth ball of the 7th over, the star Indian batter smashed a delivery from Matt Henry, only for the New Zealand all-rounder to send him packing with a brilliant one-handed catch after putting a full-stretch dive towards his right.
Later, a visual shown by the broadcaster from the Indian dressing room appeared to show Kohli discussing that catch with Jadeja. The Indian all-rounder, who is regarded among the best fielders in world cricket appeared to give the former Indian captain an animated description of the catch.
