Pakistan had a disastrous campaign at home in the Champions Trophy 2025. They were knocked out of the group stages after without a win. Their star batter Babar Azam did not have an impressive campaign at all. He scored 64 in the first match vs New Zealand, but it came off 90 balls in a run-chase of 321. Against India, he got out after scoring just 23. On the other hand, Virat Kohli slammed his 82nd international century against Pakistan. Despite the contrasting performances, ex-Pakistan batter Mohsin Khan has called Babar a better player than Virat.
In an interaction with ARY News, Mohsin Khan said that as a cricketer, Babar Azam is far superior to Virat Kohli. In fact, he called the star India batter as a big zero in front of the ex-Pakistan captain. However, he also heavily criticized the lack of planning and accountability in Pakistan cricket at the moment.
“First of all, let me tell you one thing. Virat Kohli is nothing compared to Babar Azam. Virat Kohli zero hai Babar Azam ke saamne . We are not talking here about who is a better player and we are talking about Pakistan cricket which has been destroyed. There is no planning, no strategies, no merit, and there is no accountability at all. There is no accountability,” Mohsin said.

Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi Futures In Danger After Champions Trophy Debacle

According to a report by Cricket Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a comprehensive review of the team's performance after the Champions Trophy 2025 debacle. This might include a massive change in the squad with players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah facing the axe.
Even though head coach Aaqib Javed has stated that he does not want to resign after the Champions Trophy 2025 debacle, the PCB might relieve him of his duties.
