Harsh Dubey created history during the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy final between Vidarbha and Kerala at the Vidarbha Cricket Assocation (VCA) Stadium on the third day of play on Friday (February 27) to put his team on the cusp of a historic title win.
The Vidarbha spinner took a three-wicket haul in the first innings to ensure a 37-run first-innings lead for his team in the summit clash. Kerala were bowled out for a total of 342 after the hosts put a score of 379 on the board.
Harsh Dubey Creates History In Ranji Trophy Final
With the dismissal of MD Nidheesh in the third session of the third day, Dubey wrote his name in the history books and became the highest wicket-taker in the 91-year-old history of the competition in a single season. Dubey (69 wickets) broke a record set by Bihar's Ashutosh Aman in the 2018-19 season.

Who Is Harsh Dubey?
Aged just 22, Dubey has emerged as a top option to lead India's spin attack in the future in Test cricket which is in an urgent need of transition following the retirement of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja also not getting any younger.
Dubey is a left-arm spinner who made his first-class debut in a Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir in 2019. So far, he has played 18 first-class matches and taken 97 wickets with four five-wicket hauls. He has also played 20 List A Games and has 21 wickets to his name. He played a key role in Vidharbha's run to the final of the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy final with 14 wickets in nine games.
In T20 cricket, he has nine wickets in 16 matches at an economy of 6.78. However, he went unsold in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) Mega auction and is yet to get his maiden contract in the cash-rich league.
