India are all set to take on New Zealand in their final group A game of the Champions Trophy 2025 on March 2 (Sunday) at the Dubai International Stadium. With both sides already qualified for the semi-final, this will be a match to determine who finishes on top of Group A. The Kiwis have the advantage over India in ICC tournaments, having won 10 out of the 15 encounters so far. However, ex-Pakistan head coach and legendary Australian pacer Jason Gillespie has named the one team India would fear and it is not New Zealand.
In an interaction with The Times of India, Jason Gillespie has named India as the team to beat in the Champions Trophy 2025. However, he mentioned that they would fear Australia.
"They are already in the semis... India will be hard to beat. They will fear Australia, though!" Gillespie said.
India have had a decent record against Australia in ICC tournaments. The two have faced each other 31 times, with India and Australaa winning 14 games each. However, the memories of the 2023 ODI World Cup final, where the Aussies defeated the Men in Blue, is still fresh in the memories of fans and players alike.

'India Have Advantage Playing In Dubai'

Jason Gillespie has joined in the likes of Nasser Hussain, Michael Atherton, Rassie van der Dussen and Pat Cummins to talk about the supposed 'advantage' India have in the Champions Trophy 2025 of playing all their matches in Dubai. The former Aussie fast bowler said that playing only in Dubai makes the Men in Blue familiar with the pitch and the conditions Hence, they have also picked their squad accordingly,
"India have an advantage since playing only in Dubai makes them familiar with the wicket and conditions, and they have picked their squad accordingly. Secondly, yes, the Champions Trophy means a lot to players," Gillespie added.
