[Watch]: Rohit Sharma Sets Clear Fitness Goals Ahead Of ICC Champions Trophy; Sweats Hard At BKC In Viral Video (Source:X)

Rohit Sharma as India captain is under massive pressure. Just about a few months ago, Rohit was over the moon after leading India to a T20I World Cup win, however, things have changed drastically in recent times. The Indian captain was brutally slammed after the team suffered back-to-back series defeats to New Zealand and Australia that knocked the team out of the World Test Championship race. To make matters worse, Rohit's form with the bat was not something to boast about in the defeats. The poor form led to Rohit Sharma leaving himself out of the playing XI for the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney.
There were reports that Rohit Sharma could announce retirement from Test cricket after the Australia tour, however, he has reportedly told BCCI about his willingness to continue as India captain. The BCCI is also unlikely to take any strict action against Rohit Sharma, but a lot will depend on how the team fares in the ICC Champions Trophy and the following England tour. If the two tournaments don't go India's way, Rohit could face the BCCI's fury.
While Rohit Sharma's form with the bat hasn't been great, there have been questions on his fitness as well. The Indian captain is well aware that he needs to stay as fit as possible to prolong his career. Ahead of the Champions, Rohit Sharma is leaving no stone unturned to attain peak fitness. A video of Rohit Sharma running in the BKC complex in Mumbai has gone viral on social media.
Meanwhile, the BCCI reportedly has told the senior players to play domestic cricket to be available for selection in the Test team. Rohit Sharma recently practiced with the Mumbai Ranji team. Same goes with Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli, who were named in Delhi's probable squad, however, there is still some unclarity if Kohli would play in the tournament.
