Armaan Bhatia and Harsh Mehta etched their names into the history books on Friday, 25th October at DLTA Stadium in New Delhi by becoming the first Indian doubles pair to qualify for the summit clash of the PWR India Masters in the Men's Pro Doubles category by defeating the Indian-Australian duo of Jai Grewal and Jason Taylor in the semis.
The India duo of Armaan Bhatia and Harsh Mehta got off to a flying start in the match by clinching the 1st set comprehensively by a margin of 11-3. Taylor and Grewal took a huge 7-0 lead in the second set but the Indian pair fought back superbly to make it 7-7. The last few points were taken by Bhatia and Mehta as they also won the second set by the slightest margin of 11-9 to qualify for the grand finale as they finished 2-0 victors of the game.
Armaan Bhatia will also be featuring in the Men's Pro Singles Final as well, where he will be locking horns with USA's Dustin Boyer.
As a PWR700 event, the tournament will also help the players gather upto 700 ranking points, which are valid for 52 weeks, directly impacting their seeding and eligibility for future global competitions. The event will also feature a thrilling PWR Battle of the Leagues-Minor League Pickleball, where teams of 2 men and 2 women will compete across different categories.
