India suffered a huge injury scare ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy final as Virat Kohli was reportedly hit on his knee. Virat was forced to miss an ODI against England due to a knee issue and the latest update was a big worry for the Indian fans, who are hoping for the Men in Blue to clinch the title after 12 years.
Geotv has reported that Virat Kohli was struck on his knee while facing a pacer in the net session. He stopped batting and didn't return to the nets following the blow. The right-handed batsman is fit to play the final.
Virat has been India's best batsman in the tournament. The former India captain scored a match-winning century against Pakistan and remained unbeaten on 100.
He scored a crucial 84 in the semi-final against Australia to propel India to the final. Virat will have a crucial role to play in the final. He has scored 217 runs in 4 matches.
There is no other fitness concern and India have all the players available for selection. The Men in Blue could make one change in the playing XI and bring back Harshit Rana. Kuldeep Yadav could make way for the right-arm pacer.
New Zealand have an injury worry in their camp as Matt Henry isn't confirmed to play the final. The right-arm pacer suffered a shoulder injury against South Africa. "It is still a little bit of an unknown. He is obviously pretty sore just from landing on the point of his shoulder. (We are) hopeful he will be OK," NZ head coach Gary Stead said.
The final of the ICC event will be played on Sunday (March 9). The match will kick off at 2:30 PM IST. The toss will happen at 2:00 PM IST. India and NZ have won a game against each other in Champions Trophy.
