Rohit Sharma-led India will square off against Mitchell Santner's New Zealand in the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy on Sunday (March 9). Since India have qualified for the final, the fixture will not be played in Pakistan. The summit clash will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai from 2:30 PM IST.
India punched their ticket to the final with a win over Australia in the semi-final while New Zealand registered a 50-run win over South Africa in the knockout match. It will be a repeat of the 2000 ICC Knockout Trophy final. It's after 20 years that the two teams will meet in the final of a white-ball ICC event.
India remained undefeated in the group stage while NZ suffered one defeat en route to the final. NZ's only defeat came against India in their last league stage game. Both teams had qualified for the semi-final before they met in the league stage.
India and NZ have locked horns in 2 finals of ICC events. In 2021, Kane Williamson-led NZ defeated Virat Kohli's India in the 2021 World Test Championship final to become the inaugural champions. India would be vying to take revenge and clinch the trophy once again.
