Days After PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows To Leave India Behind, PCB Confirms PSL's Direct Clash With IPL 2025 - See Full Schedule

One day after Pakistan ended their 2025 Champions Trophy campaign without winning a single match, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the schedule of the 2025 Pakistan Super League (IPL) which will take place from April 11 to May 18, across four venues in Pakistan.

For the first time in history, the PSL will directly clash with the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is the world's richest cricket league and among the highest values sporting leagues in the world. The clash with the IPL has ensured that some of the best players in the world are not available to play in the PSL and will also post a litmus test for the PCB to attract viewership.

For those unversed, the Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) announced the 2025 IPL schedule earlier this month and revealed that the 18th edition of the league will take place from March 22 to May 25.

Usually, the PSL takes place in the February and March window but with the 2025 Champions Trophy taking place at this time, Pakistan had to postpone their premier T20 competition. A similar situation is likely next year as the 2026 T20 World Cup is also scheduled at a similar time of the year.

The playoffs will take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore, with the latter set to the host the final. Karachi and Multan will host a few matches in the league sage.

PCB's decision to host the PSL at the same as the IPL comes just days after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to leave India behind in a viral speech.

"We will work day and night to ensure the situation in Pakistan improves. The Almighty has always blessed Pakistan." But in what seemed like a sudden adrenaline rush immediately after this statement, he added that "My name won't be Shehbaz Sharif if due to our efforts Pakistan does not leave India behind," said Sharif.

After going unsold in the 2025 IPL Mega Auction, the likes of Kane Williamson and David Warner entered the PSL draft and will play the league for the first time this year.
