Pakistan had another below-par ICC event and they failed to qualify for the second round of the 2025 Champions Trophy. Pakistan, who are co-hosting the tournament along with Dubai, crashed out on the fifth day of the tournament. The Men in Green are being heavily criticised for their below-par performance in the first two matches.
Many former Pakistan cricketers have slammed their team. Yograj Singh reacted to former cricketers' reactions and slammed them for their behaviour. The former India pacer also showed interest in coaching Pakistan and said that he can build this team in a year.
"Wasim ji what are you doing there...earning money doing commentary. Go back to your country and organise a camp of these players. I want to see which one of you can make Pakistan win the World Cup. Mein jata hoon, ek saal mein team khadi kar kay dikhaunga tum yaado rakhoge (I will go. I will build this team in one year. You will remember it)," he told Sportsnext.
Yograj is a coach and trains players at his academy. A couple of years back, Arjun Tendulkar trained under Yograj's tutelage. The bowling all-rounder made a memorable debut in Ranji Trophy and slammed a century in his maiden innings. He has played all formats for Goa.
Yograj played one Test and 6 ODIs for India. Yograj is the father of India legend, Yuvraj Singh. Yograj trained his son and played a key role in his success. Yuvraj played 304 ODIs, 40 Tests and 58 T20Is. He was a member of the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup-winning teams.
India, New Zealand qualify for semis
Apart from Pakistan, Bangladesh have also crashed out of the 2025 Champions Trophy. India and New Zealand have made it to the second round from Group B. India are confirmed to play the first semi-final on March 4 while NZ will be part of the second knockout match on March 5.
