Smriti Mandhana shattered records as she decimated Ireland bowlers in the 3rd ODI in Rajkot. Mandhana was in brute form and slammed a 70-ball hundred to put India in a dominating position. Mandhana missed out on a hundred in the second ODI but she made the opportunity count in the final game of the series. The 70-ball hundred by Smriti Mandhana is the fastest hundred by an Indian in women's cricket. Mandhana broke the record set by Harmanpreet Kaur who reached the milestone in 87 balls. Harmanpreet and Jemimah Rodrigues also had a hundred in 90 balls.
Meanwhile, this was Smriti Mandhana's 10th hundred in ODI cricket and she became the first Indian to reach the mark. Meg Lanning (15), Suzie Bates (13), and Tammy Beaumont (10) are ahead of Mandhana in the list of most ODI hundreds. Mandhana was out for a brilliant 135 in 80 balls as Ireland women breathed a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, Mandhana hit 12 fours and 7 sixes during her knock. She became the second Indian after Mitali Raj and ninth overall to score 500 fours in women's cricket.
