Gautam Gambhir and his manager Gaurav Arora have come under fire after India's embarrassing display in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). The head coach has been under the scanner for the team's poor performances and evident tension in the dressing room, his personal manager has irked the top brass of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
According to a report by the Press Trust of India, the Indian cricket governing body was not pleased with Gambhir's manager shadowing the team everywhere in Australia.
"Why was his PA sitting in the car specified for national selectors? They can't even discuss things in private with an unknown third person in the car. Why was he allotted space in the BCCI's hospitality box in Adelaide?. How did he have breakfast in the cordoned off area of a five-star facility which is just earmarked for the team members?," a BCCI official told PTI.

Action Taken Against Gautam Gambhir's Manager

No previous Indian head coach had a personal manager before, and the BCCI has decided to crack the whip against Arora after the team's troubled tour of Australia. As per news publication Dainak Jagran, he will not be allowed to stay in the team hotel or be allowed to sit in the VIP box anymore. Moreover, he will also be barred from travelling on the team bus.

Further, it has emerged that the BCCI has decided against allowing wives and children of players for an entire overseas tour. The Indian cricket board has decided in a review meeting that on tours that are 45 days or more, families of players will not be allowed to stay for longer than two weeks.
Furthermore, the BCCI has also decided that if the luggage of a player is more than 150 kg during air travel, they will not pay for it.
