Pickleball has emerged as the fastest-growing sport in the US in the past few years and many new facilities are opening in various parts of the country. Courtesy of pickleball's increasing popularity, the sport is also making an economic impact. A new pickleball facility named Robbinsville Pickle House has opened in New Jersey's Robbinsville.
It is being billed as the largest indoor facility in the Northeast. The Robbinsville Pickle House has 19 indoor pickleball courts. They host tournaments, leagues and private events. They also offer membership discounts.
"We are thrilled to help accommodate one of the fastest-growing sports in America, if not the world. This iconic fieldhouse has been the source of so many wonderful memories over the years, and thanks to the vision of Chris Vernon and his Mercer Management team, you can be sure more lasting memories are in store," Dave Fried, the Robbinsville Township Mayor, said in 2024.
"Whether it is first-class hotels, wedding facilities, athletic venues or car washes, every project Chris puts out to the masses is always meticulously planned and of the highest quality, so we couldn't be prouder to play a small part in ushering in this new era of Pickleball with Mercer Management."
Pickleball's increasing popularity
Many new pickleball facilities have recently opened in the US. A new bar featuring 3 pickleball courts opened in Grand Rapids few days back. Bounce Pickleball made a huge investment recently as they bought a 55,400-square-foot Pikesville Racquet and Fitness complex. They plan to build 18 to 22 pickleball courts there.
"The majority of interest was almost entirely for pickleball. It definitely reflects the new interest surge in the country, and ownership was aware of that. We not only heard from people that we didn't expect to, but we specifically listed and contacted a whole variety of tennis and pickleball facilities throughout the mid-Atlantic," Principal Gil Neuman of Neuman Commercial said.
