Suryakumar Yadav-led India will make their return to the T20I cricket in the five-match series against England, starting January 22. Following the T20Is, the two teams will lock horns in three ODIs. India have a young T20I squad at the helm and captain Suryakumar will have his task cut out against the one-time T20 World Cup champions.
Suryakumar Yadav, who made his T20I debut against England in 2021, is on the cusp of a huge milestone and he can become the second Indian to achieve it in the upcoming series.
The right-handed batsman has hit 145 sixes in only 78 T20Is he has played so far. He is just five sixes away from becoming the second Indian batsman with 150 sixes in the shortest format. The 34-year-old can achieve this record in the first very T20I if he bats for long.
Rohit Sharma is the only Indian with more than 150 sixes in T20Is. He finished his career with 205 sixes in 159 matches. With 173 sixes, Martin Guptill sits at the second spot. He retired from international cricket recently.

Virat Kohli. The former India captain hit 124 sixes in 125 matches. Virat and Rohit retired after winning the T20 World Cup in June 2024.
KL Rahul has hit 99 sixes and is just one big hit away from the 100-six mark. He has been out of the T20I fold since the 2022 World Cup and has bleak chances of making a return.
India name squad for England series
The Ajit Agarkar-headed selection committee recalled Mohammed Shami to the T20I squad while many regulars were rested. Since Shubman Gill was also rested, the selectors appointed Axar Patel as the vice-captain. The five T20Is will be played on January 22, 25, 28, 31 and February 2.
