India are coming fresh from being defeated by Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and thus failed to qualify for the final of the WTC 2025. Now, India have another chance of winning an ICC trophy, when they take the field for the Champions Trophy 2025 from February 19. Now, fans are eagerly looking forward to what the team will look like when they go to UAE. It looks like we have a date when fans can expect the squad to be revealed for the mega ICC tournament.
According to a report by India Today, India are set to announce their squad for the T20I series against England on Saturday (January 11). The squad for the Champions Trophy is also expected to be announced on that day, or on the next day i.e Sunday (January 12). The squad for the three-match ODI series against England is also expected to be announced on the same day as the Champions Trophy.
The ICC has set a deadline for teams to submit their provisional squads till January 12 for the Champions Trophy 2025. The teams will than have the opportunity to add or remove any players in the squad till February 13.
India's Schedule For Champions Trophy 2025
India will begin their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by the mega match against Pakistan on February 23. They will then play New Zealand on March 2, in the final group game. India will play all their matches in UAE, while the rest of the tournament will be held in Pakistan.
Jasprit Bumrah Might Miss Champions Trophy 2025 Group Stage
According to a report by RevSportz, Jasprit Bumrah is all but likely to miss the ODI series against England that begins from February 6. The team management are also sweating over his availability for the Champions Trophy 2025. The report says that Bumrah might be selected for the squad for the mega tournament, but will likely miss the first few matches if the injury is serious. He will definitely be available for the knockouts.
