Jasprit Bumrah was once again the pick of the Indian bowlers during the first innings of the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), where the Australian batters enjoyed a dream outing after winning the toss and choosing to bat.
Bumrah took four wickets and conceded 99 runs as the hosts put up a huge total of 474 on the board with Steve Smith scoring a century and debutant Sam Konstas, Marnus Labushagne, and Usman Khawaja making half-centuries while Pat Cummins made 49 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah Hits Career Low

After going for almost four years and 4562 deliveries without conceding a six in Test cricket, Bumrah was smashed for four maximums in the first innings at the Gabba. The last time Bumrah conceded a six in Test cricket was in the 2021 Sydney Test from Australian batter Cameron Green.
Sam Konstas joined Jos Buttler as the only second batter to hit multiple sixes off Bumrah in Test cricket, while Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc also got one maximum each on the bowling of the Indian vice-captain. This marked only the second time Bumrah conceded more than one six in an innings (after England's first innings in 2018 at the Oval) and the first time he was smashed for a maximum three or more times.
Bumrah conceded 99 runs in his marathon 28.4-over effort at the MCG, marking the most expensive spell of his career. This is the first time in his career that Bumrah has conceded more than 90 runs in an innings.
Most Runs Conceded by Jasprit Bumrah In An Innings (Tests)

Bumrah is the highest wicket-taker in the series so far with 25 wickets at an average of 13.12 with five-wicket hauls.
Earlier this week, Burmah scripted history after moving up to 904 rating points on ICC's Test bowlers ratings. He is the first Indian to cross the 900 mark. The 31-year-old also equalled Ravichandran Ashwin's record for the most points by an Indian.
Bumrah is just wickets away from completing 200 wickets in the longest format of the game.
