India ended Day 2 of the fourth Test match against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on a disastrous note after a splendid partnership between Virat Kohli ended with a brain-fade between the two players as India found themselves on the brink of defeat.
On the eve of his 23rd birthday, Jaiswal played a splendid knock of 82 and was on course for his second century of the series. The youngster put up a century partnership with Kohli as both players looked in fine form raising hopes of a spirited comeback from Team India.
However, there was a horror ending in store for India as just half and hour before stumps, the duo were involved in a mix-up which led to Jaiswal losing his wicket.
On th final ball of the 41st over, Jaiswal flicked a delivery from Scott Boland towards Pat Cummins at mid-on and took off for a run. However, Kohli was not keen on a run and turned behind immediately. The Indian opener did not spot Kohli's unwillingness to run and almost reached the non-striker's end.
This led to both batters finding themselves on the same end. Australia was quick to spot India's brain fade and completed the run-out with ease.

Jaiswal was not happy as both players got into a short discussion before the youngster departed towards the dressing room. Just seven balls later, Kohli edged a delivery from Scott Boland after making 36 runs to continue his poor run of form.
Akash Deep walked out as the night-watchman but was dismissed by Boland before stumps. India is 164/5 going into Day 3 and is still 310 runs behind. Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant will be on the crease when play starts on Saturday (December 28), and the visitors will aim to avoid a follow-on.
